Wild Child Cabernet Sauvignon (California)
The final day of Advent for 2024, and the offering for this day is the 2021 Wild Child Cabernet Sauvignon from the North Coast region of California. This is a soft-bodied Cab Sauv, with deep flavors of blackberry, black cherry and spice. It has a light tannin structure making for an easy drinking red, particularly for those drinkers who normally eschew reds that have strong, palate-gripping tannins. Some Cab Sauv drinkers may wish for a wine with a little more oomph in that regard. That said, the wine is full-bodied nonetheless. with a long, smooth fruit and spice finish. A satisfying, if somewhat soft ending to a good series of wines.
