Palloncini Rosé

Region/Country: Rubicone/Italy
Grape Varietals: Sangiovese (51%), Merlot (49%)
Our first rosé of the advent, Palloncini is a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes from the Rubicone. This Northern Italian rosé has the trappings of a great wine of its type: Tart and succulent fresh flavors of cherry and strawberry, vibrant acidity, a tannin structure that is grippy but not overwhelming, and a finish that is velvety smooth. The experts at Costco say that it has a cocoa finish, but I only pick up fruit, which isn’t a bad thing at all. This is a good porch pounder, particularly if your palate runs towards the dry and fruity.
