2023 Chateau Palene Bordeaux (AOP)
For the final day of Advent, we have a 2023 Bordeaux from Chateau Palene. The nose swirls with aromas of cherry and other red fruits, spice and just a hint of cedar. Black cherry is on the palate, as is mint, with a strong tannin structure underneath. Indeed the tannins dominate the finish, making it a touch bitter. The tasting notes suggest pairing it with red meats and cheeses, which is a good idea.
