Magic Box Pinot Noir
For Day 22 we have a Pinot Noir from Magic Box. Cherry and spice on the nose and I swear I caught a hint of tobacco. But the palate told a slightly different story. cherry and strawberry were the primary, followed by an undertone of spice and vanilla. There is a basic tannic structure. Not strong or grippy, the tannins are just enough to assert themselves and complement a solid finish. All of these elements point to a good textbook Pinot Noir. Nothing flashy, extraordinary, or even all that spectacular, but a solid wine. Which is more than fine with me. Sometimes you just want something that hits the right notes without going overboard. For me that’s Magic Box Pinot Noir.
