Summer Touch Peach
Day 21’s offering is a rarity for these Wine Advent Calendars: a fruit wine (well, a grape wine with fruit flavors, but still). Summer Touch Peach is a sparkling, low-alcohol (8% ABV) peach. As my wife and I are fans of sparkling as well as fruit wines, this promised to be exciting for us. Indeed I forgot to photograph the bottle before opening yet again. (I really have to work on my patience!)
Summer Touch Peach has lived up to its promise. Nice peach aromas and flavors, with a hint of citrus fruit. The fizz makes the wine lively and the finish is long. Now as someone who lives in a state and region that is respected for its non-grape fruit wines, the French Summer Touch Peach may not be quite as, well, “peachy” as many of the local peach wines I’ve tried. But the flavor is more than good enough and the wine goes down very quickly if you’re not careful. (And we weren’t!) Definitely makes me want to try more fruit wines from France.
