HXM Riesling (Rheinhessen, Germany)

One week in. For Day 7, we try a dry Riesling from Rheinhessen. I always said that a good Riesling is like lemonade, a perfect blend of sweetness and lively acidity. This Riesling is a little more tart than sweet, but there is a burst of citrus fruit (lemon in particular) and a little green apple. Light bodied with a medium citrusy finish that is refreshing. If you find your average Riesling too sweet and want something a little more subtle with more structure – without going bone dry – this wine may be more your speed. Especially if you like Sauvignon Blancs. This Riesling definitely gives me a bit of a Sauv Blanc vibe, it almost begs to be paired with seafood.
