Le Rose’ no. 6 Fizzy (Jean Marcel L’Artisan)

Another trip around the sun, and we are back with a new Wine Advent-ure! This time we are going with Total Wines 2025 Advent Calendar. It’s been ages since we have shopped at Total Wine usually because we prefer the more local options for wine shopping. But their Wine Advent Calendar has been on our radar the past few months and we just got our happy hands on one, so let the fun begin!
To start off, we have a sparkling rose’ for our Day 1 wine, “Le Rose’ no. 6 Fizzy” from Jean Marcel L’Artisan. I like that Total Wine begins this calendar with a sparkling wine, it’s a lively way to usher in Advent. Starting things off with a bang, or rather a pop… At least in terms of flavor (the bottle is a screw top, so no cork popping)
So how is it? Strawberry on the nose with a hint of watermelon. The palate is vibrant, the strawberry carries on here, and there is also a hint of citrus. The label says that there is a touch of acidity, and it is definitely present, I’d say a little more than a touch, but that’s fine. Surprised at how long the finish lasted. I was kinda expecting a crisp, abrupt finish, but the flavors lingered on the palate for a while after the fizz melted away. A solid ending to an exciting beginning with the fizz.
It’s not overly complex, but it doesn’t have to be. This is a delightful porch-pounder, and at 11 bucks it’s good for a casual outing. So embrace the simple.
All in all a good start. Looking forward to seeing what Day 2 brings…
