Fortune Favors Grüner Veltliner
(Monterey, CA)

For Day 22, we get a little taste of a Central European grape, by way of Monterey County, California in the form of a Grüner Veltliner from IGT’s Fortune Favors label. This wine is refreshing, aromas of green apple and lime promising a crisp fruity wine, and the palate doesn’t disappoint, with tangy citrus fruits and pear flavors and a hint of stone. The acidity is nice, not too much of a bite and the finish is long and clean. Overall this GV is a good porch pounder. Furthermore it also paired nicely with some Popeyes spicy fried chicken ;).
