Wild Child Zinfandel (Lodi, CA)
For the fifteenth day of Advent we go to Lodi California, the home of Wild Child’s 2022 Zinfandel. Aromas of blackberry, currant and plum swirl in the glass. The palate is pretty jammy, with lush red fruit and blackberry flavors and a hint of chocolate. This is a medium bodied wine, the tannins aren’t overly grippy but solid, and the medium acidity helps gives the wine some pizzazz and prevents it from being flabby or overwrought. Overall a nice Zin with some structure and a good finish.
