Andiamo Nerello Cappuccio (Sicily, Italy)

For Day 14, we once again go back to Sicily for Andiamo’s Nerello Cappuccio. This is a very bright, expressive wine, with aromas of cherries and strawberries. I also detected a hint of spice. The palate is bursting with cherry and red fruits. Also the spice makes a comeback here. It’s not in the tasting notes, so maybe it’s just me, but it makes me think a bit of those spicy Balaton cherries. Acidity and tannins are about medium, not overpowering, which makes for a pleasant balanced wine, if a bit spicy in the fruit. Kinda perfect for fall or the start of winter. π
