La Pluma Chardonnay (California)
For the 11th Day we are trying a Chardonnay, from IGT’s La Pluma label. I liked this Chard. It is soft-bodied and fruity with a hint of vanilla, indicating that it’s lightly oaked. The fruit flavors and aromas are citrus – pineapple and lemon – with a satisfyingly long finish. These are the kinds of Chardonnays I enjoy – fruity, with a touch of oak to round out the mouthfeel and add balance. It’s a good porch pounder.
