La Pluma Sauvignon Blanc (California)

ITG’s Day 9 offering is another white from La Pluma, a Sauvignon Blanc. I can think of no other way to describe my first taste of this wine, apart from “this wine slaps”. It’s lively, with an intense nose of grapefruit, lemongrass and herb. The palate is no less vibrant, with strong flavors of grapefruit along with pineapple and other tropical citrus fruits. It has a high acidity like many Sauv Blancs and even a light spritz to add to the vibrancy. This Sauvignon Blanc has an aggressive mouthfeel, but a tasty one. And while I tend to prefer more the restrained Sauvignon Blancs of France, this wine slaps in a good way. 🙂
