Fortune Favors Shiraz (Barossa Valley, Australia)
For Day 10 we go to the Barossa Valley in Australia to try Fortune Favors’ Shiraz. This Shiraz is solid, with the expected aromas of blackberry and pepper. The palate is balanced with blackberry and dark cherry flavors. What I really enjoy about this wine is the tannins. They are silky and supple, not aggressive, providing a good structure for the wine without reducing the fruit. While I was hoping for something a little more bold and spicy, this wine is nicely balanced and thus easy to drink. A comfortable, casual wine.
