Garnacha (Spain)
From Italy in Day 2 the folks at In Good Taste went to Spain for Day 3 with this Garnacha. It is pretty solid, with cherry, raspberry and boysenberry aromas. There’s also a hint of spice (mint), which is stronger on the palate, but not overpowering. The flavors of cherry and raspberry steal the show. Tannins are present, providing a solid foundation to this medium bodied wine. Overall this is a pretty solid garnacha. Sure, it didn’t blow my socks off but the wine didn’t underwhelm or disappoint me either, and that’s a good thing. Oftentimes, being good is just good enough.
