Zillē Red Blend
Region/Country: Emilia Romagna/Italy
Our first semi-sweet red! Hailing from the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, Zillē is a red blend with juicy flavors of strawberries, cherries and brambleberries. This medium-bodied wine has moderate acidity (that makes it pair well with food) and a tannin presence that is muted a little bit by the wine’s sweetness. As a result Zillē is a velvety smooth wine that is easily quaffable and plays well with dishes that are savory yet possess a degree of sweetness such as barbecue chicken. Simply put, Zillē is also a wine that benefits from a little bit of chilling in the refrigerator for a refreshing porch pounding red. Simply put, it’s a more complex alternative to the Concord wines, though not quite as sweet. Plenty of fun!
